چکیده
If the large-angular-scale anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background radiation is caused by the long-wavelength cosmological perturbations of quantum mechanical origin, they are, most likely, gravitational waves, rather than density perturbations or rotational perturbations. Inflationary Cosmological Perturbations of Quantum-Mechanical Origin
This review article aims at presenting the theory of inflation. We first describe the background spacetime behavior during the slow-roll phase and analyze how inflation ends and the Universe reheats. Then, we present the theory of cosmological perturbations with special emphasis on their behavior during inflation. In particular, we discuss the quantum-mechanical nature of the fluctuations and s...
متن کاملCosmological perturbations of quantum-mechanical origin and anisotropy of the microwave background.
Cosmological perturbations generated quantum-mechanically (as a particular case, during inflation) possess statistical properties of squeezed quantum states. The power spectra of the perturbations are modulated and the angular distribution of the produced temperature fluctuations of the CMBR is quite specific. An exact formula is derived for the angular correlation function of the temperature f...
متن کاملStatistics of the microwave background anisotropies caused by squeezed cosmological perturbations.
It is likely that the observed large-angular-scale anisotropies in the microwave background radiation are induced by the cosmological perturbations of quantum-mechanical origin. Such perturbations are now placed in squeezed vacuum quantum states and, hence, are characterized by large variances of their amplitude. The statistical properties of the anisotropies should reflect the underlying stati...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Origin of the CMBAnisotropy in String
In the innationary scenarios suggested by string theory, the vacuum uctuations of the electromagnetic eld can be ampliied by the time-evolution of the dilaton background, and can grow large enough to explain both the origin of the cosmic magnetic elds and of the observed CMB anisotropy. The normalization of the perturbation spectrum is xed, and implies a relation between the perturbation amplit...
متن کاملCosmological Density Perturbations From A Quantum Gravitational Model Of Inflation
We derive the implications for anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background following from a model of inflation in which a bare cosmological constant is gradually screened by an infrared process in quantum gravity. The model predicts that the amplitude of scalar perturbations is AS = (2.0± .2)× 10−5, that the tensor-to-scalar ratio is r ≈ 1.7× 10−3, and that the scalar and tensor spectral in...
